Château Montgeoffroy

The château of Montgeoffroy was built by Sire Jean Benoît Vincent Barré (Parisian architect) between 1772 to 1776, for Louis Georges Erasme de Contades, Field Marchal. The grounds currently feature the original 16th century château's two round towers and chapel – which have been beautifully-incorporated into the 18th century building you see today.

Montgeoffroy is one of the last châteaux in the Loire Valley that has kept its original furnishings in the styles of Louis XV, Transition style, and Louis XVI.

More than three hundred years later, the Marquis and Marquise de Contades have opened the doors of this magnificent structure for you to explore and enjoy.
